The Council Meets Tonight

Who cares? Seriously, these days, even I have hard time caring. The most important thing happening tonight, in my mind, is thanking Hickory Hurie for his 30 years of service to the City. The rest, is alot of administrative functions, things that have essentially already been decided and some tinkering around the edges. Or, maybe not? (Sorry, I'm such a tease!) There's always a surprise or two . . .

Here's what I have of interest:

• 1 - Honoring Hickory Hurie for his 30 years of service to the City.
• 2 - Honoring Helen Dietzler for her 11 years of work in the Clerk's Office - she's moving to another city position.
  
• 5 - McGrath Project on Broom - while many neighbor oppose, the Plan Commission is recommending approval.
• 58 - City attorney tells us what we need to find to deny a bartenders license.
• 59 - Bill White is at it again . . . he loves to file those law suits about inclusionary zoning. Too bad he's so damn nice while he's doing it!
  
• Approving Several Labor agreements (61, 62, 63, 70, 71, 72)
• 74 - Amending Budget for TIF for Allied Drive
• 75 - CDA Budget Template (now where's the report - they were supposed to come back together!)
  
• 76 - Police Overtime Report
  
• 77 - Getting staff for the clerk's office (and delaying the hiring of the Economic Development Director and Community Development Director?)
• 110 - Amending Budget for Water Filter for the Pool
• 112 - Placing on file (tossing in the garbage) the report that addresses concerns about police interviewing tactics highlighted with the "Patty" case.
  

I wonder how long this will take. Which sometimes seems to be the most important question on most of my colleagues mind.
